The Logic of Solar Installations
We keep saying that solar is an idea that's right for our times – but we keep seeing that put to work in new ways as we help property owners to modernize their buildings.
Yes, obviously, you can save money in terms of reaping energy from the sky instead of through your traditional electrical grid, where utility providers tack on all of the costs of staffing, infrastructure and more (not to mention the byzantine payment and communication systems that are so frustratingly and bafflingly opaque to so many customers!)
But there are other kinds of logic, too, that underscore the attractiveness of solar today.
Solar and On-Site Solutions
Here's one that you might not think about, unless you live in an area that's already inundated with seasonal tropical storms or power outages from high wind and water.
There are quite a few communities in the country where power outages are pretty common. Homes have started to build in whole house generators, so that they can have uninterrupted power service, which is ultimately important for things like refrigeration and HVAC.
Other communities haven’t really experienced this yet, but they're about to as climate patterns shift. Solar helps to deal with the overall problem – fossil fuel burning – but it also helps a particular property to have energy on hand when it's needed.
In fact, you can think of solar implementation in general as one big massive efficiency. Any time you source something on site, instead of getting it from a centralized source, you remove a good deal of cost and effort. Instead of lines snaking out to provide core power to individual customers down every street, the individual property has its own building power system. It's not hard to see how that kind of efficiency works, but many times it's not playing into this model showing why solar is effective. It’s ignored somehow.
Labor-Saving technology
A corollary point is this – there's quite a bit of labor involved in maintaining traditional utility systems. You might even hear the utility company complain about the cost of all that labor, and how hard it is to keep the infrastructure in place despite all of the power of modern technology.
Again, with on-site solar, all of that need for maintenance is eliminated.
No lineman needs to come in and work on your street. You get the power directly from the sun, and it flows directly into your property’s on-site system.
Think about these ideas when you're planning your solar design and call Solar Masters for effective and customer-friendly installation.
